This is the first Doctor Who episode I ever saw, and still one of my favourites.
Look, Matt’s lovely, he’s a magnificent, brand new, hilarious, heartbreaking, heroic Doctor—but the fact is, if that man walks into a room with a coffee then it’s only so long before you’re wearing it. …I remember when we turned up for a meeting very early on, and the first thing he did was spill a cup of coffee on a rather lovely woman. Naturally she giggled, flushed and introduced her mother. On the way out he apologized to a completely different woman for the coffee incident. “That was the wrong woman” I said, as he went out the doors. ‘Nope,’ he replied, ‘That was the second cup.’
MIT Hack of the Day: The Massachusetts Institute of Technology is known for its elaborate pranks, but this is an especially good’um: Students awoke this morning to discover Doctor Who’s spacetime-traveling police box resting atop the university’s main entrance.

Every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things but vice versa, the bad things don’t necessarily spoil the good things or make them unimportant.
“When I was a kid, I had an imaginary friend. The raggedy doctor. My raggedy doctor. But he wasn’t imaginary. He was real. I remember you. I remember! I brought the others back; I can bring you home, too. Raggedy man, I remember you, and you are late for my wedding! I found you. I found you in words like you knew I would - that’s why you told me the story, the brand new, ancient blue box. Oh, clever - very clever. Something old, something new. Something borrowed… something blue.”
I had shipped Amy and the Doctor…but I love Rory too much now to want her to be with anyone else - except maybe Van Gogh, ha!
The Doctor: Now, the question of the hour is, who’s got the Pandorica? I do - next question: Who’s coming to take it from me?
C’mon, look at me! No plan, no backup, no weapons worth a damn, oh and something else I don’t have: Anything. To. Lose. So! If you’re sitting up there in your silly little spaceship with your silly little guns, and you’ve got any plans on taking the Pandorica tonight, just remember who’s standing in your way. Remember every black day I ever stopped you, and then - and then! Do the smart thing.
Let somebody else try first.

“To me, Van Gogh is the finest painter of them all. Certainly the most popular great painter of all time, the most beloved. His command of color, most magnificent. He transformed the pain of his tormented life into ecstatic beauty. Pain is easy to portray, but to use your passion and pain to portray the ecstasy and joy and magnificence of our world, no one had ever done it before. Perhaps no one ever will again. To my mind, that strange, wild man who roamed the fields of Provence was not only the world’s greatest artist, but also one of the greatest men who ever lived.”
